Dr. 3D Printer

Often times trying to figure out exactly what is wrong with a less than perfect print can mean playing Doctor. We look at the part we just printed and analyze what went wrong and how to fix it for the next time. Sometimes the symptoms point to an obvious culprit and other times is a mix of contributing factors. Like a practicing doctor, the longer you do it, the better you will get at identifying the causes for unsightly prints.

In recent prints on my Qidi Tech X-One noticed what could be described as layer sagging or drooping.

The print wasn’t experiencing the issue all the way through. About half way up the intensity of the drooping subsided.

In order to help identify what I was even looking at I decided to look it up online. In my searches I came across a great comprehensive resource from Simplify3D. Here you get a preview of tons of bad prints to compare against yours and then reasons for why the prints are they way they are.

I noticed mine looked a lot like the Blobs and Zits one. I will review the suggested causes and make adjustments accordingly to see if this helps.
